AER723 – Introduction to Space Systems Design

Role: Lab Instructor and Teaching Assistant (2022)

Responsibilities and Achievements:

  • Organized and led weekly labs to provide students with hands-on experience in space system design considerations.
  • Developed and delivered lab materials, ensuring students gained practical skills in instrumentation, satellite communication, and thermal modeling.
  • Key labs included:
    • Lab 1: Instrumentation of digital sensors (9-DOF IMU) using an Arduino microcontroller and EEPROM via I2C communication.
    • Lab 2: Utilized Satellite Tool Kit (STK) to analyze and select optimal communication sites for various satellite constellations.
    • Lab 3: Explored frequency modulation (FM) in radio communication systems.
    • Lab 4: Conducted thermal modeling simulations to evaluate spacecraft thermal management strategies.
  • Provided detailed feedback on lab reports, helping students improve their technical writing and analytical skills.

Lab 2 used a satellite tool kit to select communication sites for different satellite constellations.

AER615 – Aircraft Performance

Role: Graduate Teaching Assistant (2023, 2024)

Responsibilities and Achievements:

    • Oversaw three major projects during the semester, guiding students through the design and analysis of aircraft performance metrics.
    • Conducted weekly in-person tutorials to reinforce lecture material and provide additional support to students.
    • Created and uploaded comprehensive course notes to the course shell at the end of each week, ensuring students had access to clear and concise study materials.
    • Hosted two-hour midterm and final exam review sessions, solving practice problems and addressing student questions to ensure their success.
    • Demonstrated strong organizational and communication skills by managing multiple responsibilities while maintaining a high level of student engagement and satisfaction.
